About One Kind Act a Day

Creating kinder communities by inspiring daily acts of deliberate kindness

About One Kind Act a Day

One Kind Act a Day is a non-profit that is spreading ripples of kindness throughout the world. We have programs in schools from kindergarten through university levels. Our tailor-made business programs help increase kindness within your employees and towards your customers. We have city and community initiatives to help create connections between those around us. A big focus is also in corrections where we have classes in adult and juvenile prisons.

Thanks to the generosity of the Semnani Family Foundation, we are fully funded and do not seek or even accept donations. This allows our programs to be offered free of charge, and all we ask in return is for you to spread kindness.

At the core of all we do is the simple message of kindness that we try to spread however we can. This message, to do at least one kind act a day, is something anyone anywhere can accomplish, and we encourage you to commit to kindness by taking our Pledge of Kindness.

The Semnani Family Foundation launched the One Kind Act a Day initiative with a simple but powerful belief: small acts of kindness, when multiplied by many, have the potential to spark monumental change. At the heart of this vision is the understanding that kindness isn’t just a feel-good action—it’s a transformative force that can positively impact our lives, our communities, and even our world.

Our Community in Action

The beauty of kindness is that its benefits ripple outward while benefiting us inward. Our families, neighborhoods, and even our personal well-being can flourish when we embrace kindness as a daily habit. One Kind Act a Day exists to inspire and empower individuals everywhere to make that commitment—one act of kindness, every single day. It’s not just the giver or the recipient who gains from these selfless acts. There’s something magical about the way kindness spreads, catching on from person to person, creating a chain reaction that can uplift entire communities.

Kindness is one of society’s most significant common denominators.

Kindness is one of society’s most significant common denominators.

Through this initiative, our goal is simple but profound: to honor, recognize, and celebrate the inherent goodness in people. We work to amplify, advocate, and exemplify this all-important value. We aim to restore and nurture two of the most precious gifts—our faith in humanity and our belief in a better, kinder future for all. Whether across the street or across the globe, One Kind Act a Day seeks to build a world where kindness isn’t the exception but the rule.

What is the

Semnani Family Foundation?

The Semnani Family Foundation was founded by Khosrow B. Semnani, an immigrant, engineer, and entrepreneur whose life has been shaped by perseverance, opportunity, and a deep commitment to giving back.

After building a successful career and founding Envirocare, Khosrow focused on using that success to serve others. What began as a personal belief in helping those around him grew into a broader mission rooted in compassion, responsibility, and community.

That spirit led to the creation of the Semnani Family Foundation and later inspired One Kind Act a Day, a movement built on a simple idea. Small acts of kindness, done consistently, can create real and lasting change.
