One Kind Act a Day is working to get official license plates through the State of Utah – and you can help!
Why license plates?
Utah law allows for individuals to have a “special group plate” on their vehicles. Some of the plates that have already been approved include plates for schools, sports teams, civic organizations, hospitals and research institutes, non-profits, and other communities.
One Kind Act a Day aims to establish its own special group plate in an effort to spread kindness and community care, and to encourage people in our state to take the Pledge of Kindness.
How can you help?
The first step to receive approval for our own license plate is to establish interest. One Kind Act a Day needs 250 vehicles to express interest in our plate. Note that this is vehicles – not individuals. If you own multiple vehicles or a trailer, you may express interest for each vehicle.
Here’s what you do:
- Download the BLANK-TC-203 (also available through this link or through the button above)
- Note: DO NOT send any funds to One Kind Act a Day for this project. Although the form states that there are “required funds” which need to be sent to the “sponsoring organization”, at this stage there is no payment required – you are just expressing interest.
- Fill out the TC-203 form for each vehicle you would like to have a custom plate
- Under “Name of the Special Group Plate” please write “One Kind Act a Day”
- Under “Name of the Sponsoring Organization” please write “One Kind Act a Day”

License Plate FAQ:
- Do I have to pay for One Kind Act a Day license plates if I fill out this form?
The short answer: No. This form is simply to express interest in potentially receiving a license plate. Once the plates are approved, you will be contacted to confirm if you would like to make the switch. At that point, standard plate fees from the State of Utah will apply.
State law around the plates also requires that users of special group plates pay an annual $25 donation to the sponsoring organization. Since One Kind Act a Day does not accept or solicit donations, our hope is to get the fee waived for people who choose our plates, but this cannot yet be confirmed.
But in the meantime – no fees apply to simply express interest in the plates. We will provide more details on this page as we learn more.
- Can I fill out the form multiple times?
Technically, Yes! You can fill out the form for each vehicle that you own. Ultimately, we need to show there are 250 vehicles interested in our plate, not people. So if you have multiple cars, a trailer, motorcycle, or another plated-vehicle, you may express interest for each one at least once.
