Ellen Rossi
Ellen Rossi, a Director of the S.J. & Jessie E. Quinney Foundation, the Janet Q. Lawson Foundation, the JoAnne L. Shrontz Family Foundation and the Emma Eccles Jones Foundation, is a fifth generation Utahn raised with a deep commitment to honoring Utah’s past and working to ensure its prosperous future. The Foundation work includes, but is not limited to, preserving Utah’s natural landscapes, supporting social services and health care, and furthering the arts and education in the State.
Raised in Utah, Ellen graduated high school from Rowland Hall-St Mark’s in Salt Lake City and after a few years of undergraduate study, she left to pursue a career in the Culinary Arts. Ellen lived and worked as a chef in San Francisco before returning to Utah in 2003. Not long after her move back, Ellen met and married Chris Rossi, a professional waterskier and ski designer. For about a decade they split their time between Orlando, FL and Alta, UT where they welcomed their two children Aksel and Kai.
In addition to her Foundation work, Ellen is also on the Board of Trustees for The McGillis School, The Nature Conservancy of Utah, an Ambassador for OKAAD, and co-chairs the Utah Grantmakers Alliance.
