How to Become a Certified City of Kindness

Becoming a Certified City of Kindness with One Kind Act a Day (OKAAD) is all about bringing a community together around kindness. The journey starts when city leaders, schools, businesses, and residents commit to making kindness part of everyday life. With support from OKAAD, cities set kindness goals, launch community-wide initiatives, and create spaces where compassion and inclusion can thrive. From service projects to school programs and city events, each step builds a stronger culture of kindness. Once these milestones are reached, the city is recognized as an official City of Kindness, joining a growing movement of communities working to make the world a kinder place—one act at a time.
